Kay

Patient Service Coordinator

When you walk in the door, Kay will welcome you to our practice with a smile. She enjoys working with each patient and helping to meet their scheduling and administrative needs. Kay has over 30 years of experience in the dental field. She graduated from Lakeland Medical and Dental Academy and worked as a dental assistant for many years. Ten years ago she transitioned to the role of Patient Service Coordinator. Kay began working for Dr. Berg in 1991 and has been at Orono Dental Care since we started the practice in 2004. In her free time, Kay enjoys golfing and traveling.

Pat

Patient Service Coordinator

Pat started her dental career as Dr. Berg’s dental assistant. She moved into an administrative role back at his Robbinsdale practice and has been an integral member of our business staff since then. She has been working with him since 1986 and brings more than 25 years of experience to our office staff. Her smile brightens up the front desk as she helps assist patients with their needs. At home, Pat enjoys gardening, reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Barb

Patient Service Coordinator

Barb began her dental career 22 years ago as a dental assistant for Dr. Mary Jane Black in Maple Plain, MN. When Dr. Skramstad purchased the business in 2000, she remained with the practice because she was so impressed with Dr. Skramstad’s skills and dental philosophy. As a member of our Patient Service Coordinator team, she brings her genuine commitment to customer service and will be happy to help you with all of your scheduling and administrative needs. She has a degree from Crown College and in her free time enjoys teaching Bible studies, community service, guitars, and family.

Kim

Treatment Coordinator

Kim joined our staff in April of 2010. She works to ensure each patient understands what Dr. Berg and Dr. Skramstad have planned for their treatment. Additionally, she prepares treatment estimates and arranges financing options. Kim is very knowledgeable about all aspects of dentistry, as she still maintains her dental assisting license, and is our interface between clinical and administrative personnel. She began her dental career as an assistant in 1998 and has worked in the field since. Kim’s mission statement is “to make sure that each patient understands what was discussed at their appointment and that they know they are always welcome to call me with any questions. I want to help make their appointments pleasant experiences that will make them not only want to return to see us but to tell others.” Kim enjoys cooking, photography, exercising, and playing sports such as softball and hockey.

Judi

Business Manager/Patient Relations

Judi began her dental career in 1981 and has been working with Dr. Berg as his business manager since 1989. Before joining our team, she spent several years working in Oral Surgery. Though much of her work is behind the scenes, Judi is still able to bring her enthusiasm and five-star patient services to our patients at Orono Dental Care. Please feel free to contact her with any questions you may have. Outside of work, Judi enjoys spending time with her family, her toy poodle named Petey, boating, watching the Vikings, and entertaining her friends at her home.

Meet Our Dental Assistants

Each of our dental assistants works with Dr. Berg and Dr. Skramstad to make your visit at our office as comfortable and stress free as possible. They are trained in the most up-to-date and advanced technology. For those who require a little extra anxiety relief, each assistant is trained and certified in nitrous oxide administration.

Jenny

Dental Assistant

Jenny graduated from Herzing College in 2005 with a degree in Dental Assisting. She has been working in the field for six years and has been a valuable assistant to Dr. Berg at Orono Dental Care since 2008. She has background experience in Periodontics, Endodontics, and Oral Surgery. Most recently, Jenny received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys running, camping, fishing, spending time with her friends and family, and her black lab Molly.

Jamie

Dental Assistant

Jamie graduated from Herzing College with a degree in Dental Assisting in 2007 and has worked with Dr. Skramstad for the past four years. Patients find themselves at ease because of Jamie’s fun, easygoing attitude. Additionally, she is exceptionally skilled in CEREC procedures. Jamie enjoys fishing, camping, spending time with her family and friends, and her two miniature Australian Shepherds named Chloe and Dozer.

Crissy

Dental Assistant

Crissy graduated from Herzing College with a degree in Dental Assisting in 2002 and has been working in the field since. She joined our staff at the beginning of 2011 and is an asset to both Dr. Berg and Dr. Skramstad. She says she loves her job because “I like the variety in dentistry and I like working with people.” Away from work, Crissy enjoys camping, boating, snowmobiling, taking walks, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. She got married during the summer of 2010 and loves to spend time with her husband and daughter.

Meet Our Dental Hygienists

Our team of dental hygienists is made up of highly qualified dental clinicians who help each patient maintain optimal long term oral health. They are provided with the most advanced, proven methods of detecting decay, gum disease, and other dental concerns in their earliest stages. Each hygienist is trained in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration and is a wonderful, friendly professional sure to make your dental experience as enjoyable as possible.

Allyson

Dental Hygienist

Allyson graduated from Northwest Technical College/Moorhead State in 2001 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. A native of North Dakota, Allyson came to work for Dr. Skramstad here at Orono Dental Care back in 2005. With a smile as bright as her cheerful attitude, she is gentle and efficient at cleaning your teeth. Allyson got married in the summer of 2010 and enjoys working out, running, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her husband and two black labs, Tyson and Abby.

Lori

Dental Hygienist

Lori has been with Orono Dental Care since we opened our doors in 2004. A graduate of Normandale Community College, Lori received her Registered Dental Hygienist degree in 1992 and has been working in the field since. She says “I enjoy working with my variety of patients. I have worked at this office so long that children I saw for their first visit are now graduating from high school!” Her friendly attitude and vast experience make visits in her room a breeze. In her leisure time, Lori goes boating, snowmobiling, and spends time with her family and friends. She is a proud mom to three young daughters and is happily married.

Kari

Dental Hygienist

Before becoming a dental hygienist, Kari spent six years working as a dental assistant. She returned to St. Cloud State/St. Cloud Technical College and completed her Dental Hygiene degree in 2001. Kari has worked with Dr. Berg since she graduated from school and has been at Orono Dental Care since our doors opened. She says, “Working here is rewarding because I get to come to work and make a difference in people’s lives while spending time with a variety of patients. Not a day goes by that one of my patients also makes an impact in my life. They are absolutely wonderful. I enjoy helping them to lead healthy lives and, of course, to enhance their smile!” Outside of work, Kari enjoys spending time with her family, reading, exercising, boating, and snowmobiling with her husband and two children.

Laurie

Dental Hygienist

Laurie received her Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1982 from the University of Minnesota. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2006. She has 29 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist and is among our most knowledgeable staff. Additionally, Laurie is a meticulous and thorough clinician and has been a Dental Hygiene school instructor at Herzing College. She has been working at Orono Dental Care for the past four years and says “I enjoy working at this office in the area where I grew up. I graduated from Orono Schools and have many friends and acquaintances here. It’s a great community!” She enjoys walking, gardening, reading, piano, cross country skiing, traveling, and going on motorcycle rides with her husband. She is very proud of her two daughters who are both in college.
