Dr. Karl Berg grew up in White Bear Lake and attended college at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1977. Dr. Berg received his Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1981. While practicing in Robbinsdale, Dr. Berg continued his affiliation with the School of Dentistry during a ten-year period as an Assistant Clinical Professor. He was also the Chief of Staff of Dentistry at North Memorial Health Care.
Dr. Berg is accomplished in all phases of family, esthetic, single visit crowns (CEREC CAD/CAM), and implant dentistry. He has completed numerous advanced continuing education courses at the University of Minnesota and the Spear Institute for Dentistry, where he is currently a mentor for CEREC and implant technology. This enduring commitment to contemporary education has allowed him to restore the mouth using new, modern techniques and materials including single visit CEREC CAD/CAM crown restorations on both natural teeth and dental implants.
Dr. Berg places dental implants utilizing a surgical guide that is fabricated via 3-D dental CAT scan (CBCT). This is integrated with pre-operative virtual crown placement with CEREC CAD/CAM, allowing the implant to be placed ideally for the final crown.
In addition, Dr. Berg is especially talented in cosmetic bonding, veneers, and cosmetic porcelain crowns and has made cosmetic dentistry affordable for many patients. His practice seamlessly integrates computer and digital technology with dental care to bring the highest level of service to individuals and families.
Dr. Berg is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minneapolis District Dental Society, a Fellow in the International Dental Implant Association, and is a past President of the North Side Dental Society and the North Hennepin Kiwanis Club. He has also been a member and past chairman of several dental committees of the Minneapolis District Dental Society.
Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine has featured Dr. Berg many times as a “Top Dentist.” Also, Twin Cities Consumers’ Checkbook recognized him as a “Top Rated Dentist” in Hennepin and Wright Counties.
Dr. Berg spends his free time with his wife and their three children. The family enjoys outdoor activities including sailing, kayaking, and skiing. His daughter, Brianna, recently joined the practice as an associate dentist!
Dr. Michael Skramstad grew up in Marshall, MN and attended college at Purdue University. While at Purdue, he played on the University Golf Team for four years and graduated in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in genetics. Dr. Skramstad then returned to Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2000.
Dr. Skramstad performs all aspects of cosmetic, implant, and family dentistry with a particular focus on esthetic and CAD/CAM computerized dentistry. He is a certified Advanced Trainer for Patterson Dental and has lectured internationally on technology and digital dentistry. Dr. Skramstad is an Alpha tester for Sirona Dental Systems, focusing on the production of digital restorations. A product consultant for multiple dental companies, he has had the pleasure of testing and evaluating many products prior to market launch and has published numerous articles on dental materials and CAD/CAM.
Dr. Skramstad has the pleasure of being faculty of the CAD/CAM Department at the Spear Education Center for Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona, and www.cerecdoctors.com, a nationally renowned website for continuing education in CEREC dentistry. He was also voted one of the “Top Dentists” multiple times by his peers in Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine.
In his spare time, Dr. Skramstad enjoys spending time with his wife, sons Ethan and Benjamin, daughter Colette, and their dog, Otis.

Dr. Brianna Berg grew up in Orono, MN and was captain of the hockey and track teams while attending Orono High School. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and received a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology.
Dr. Berg received her Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in May of 2015, where she took advanced coursework in root canal treatments and CAD/CAM computerized dentistry. Throughout dental school, she was active in many organizations and was awarded the Fraternal Achievement Award by professional fraternity Psi Omega for her commitment to advancing the organization. Dr. Berg is also passionate about dental advocacy and participated in advocacy events at the state and national levels throughout dental school. The focus of her advocacy has been on advancing oral health care through improved prevention, access, and education. In the fall of 2014, Dr. Berg also had the opportunity to participate in a dental exchange program to Bergen, Norway, where she spent several months treating patients and learning about oral health from an international perspective.
Dr. Brianna Berg enjoys providing the full range of dental care from simple fillings to more complicated procedures such as crowns, root canal treatments, and implant restoration.
In her free time, Dr. Berg enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and rescue dog, Charlie. Her other interests include taking pottery classes and being a member of a local book club. She tries to get away to the family cabin in northern Minnesota as often as possible to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Dr. Scott Northey grew up in Hibbing, MN and attended College at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. While at UMD, he played on the University golf team. He graduated in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Dr. Northey received his Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1977. He continued his affiliation with the School of Dentistry for a two-year period as a clinical instructor.
Dr. Northey joined an established private dental practice in 1977 and became part of more than 100 years of Twin Cities’ dental history. The practice, located in downtown Minneapolis at the time, had been in place for more than a century. The practice’s founding principles were top-quality care and patient satisfaction. So when his colleagues retired, Dr. Northey was delighted to take over the practice with the goal of carrying forward the traditions established so many years before. In 1989, Dr. Northey expanded the practice by opening an office in Wayzata.
Proudly serving the Twin Cities Metro area for over 35 years, Dr. Northey has built his reputation on honesty, integrity, and respect for his patients, while providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Northey lives with his wife, Michele, and their two dogs in Medina. He enjoys spending his free time with his two daughters and their families, and he loves being a Grandpa to his five grandchildren. When there isn’t snow on the ground, he can also be found working on his golf game. He also enjoys reading, painting, and traveling to Mexico.
Tiffany joined our office team in 2014. Tiffany graduated summa cum laude from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She has experience in dental practice management, insurance, and patient relations.
Away from the office, Tiffany is a director for Minnesota Dance Ensemble, an adult modern dance company based in St. Cloud, MN. She enjoys reading, watching documentaries, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and their two rescue dogs.
Terri started her career in the dental field as a patient coordinator in 2006 after being in the daycare business for 12 years. She joined Orono Dental Care in 2016 and works on insurance benefits and coverage verification as well as scheduling appointments and various other duties. She loves interacting with patients and focusing on their needs while they are in the office, making them smile and feel comfortable with their visit!
Terri was born and raised on a dairy farm in Northwest MN. After getting married to her husband, Brent, they moved to California for two years before returning to MN in 1985, Terri enjoys spending time with her three grown children along with other family and friends. She also loves animals, including her Chihuahua and two kitties, spending time camping, fishing, hiking, sewing and doing crafts. Her life motto is: Live, Love and Laugh!
Michelle started her career in the dental field as a patient coordinator in 2012 and joined our office in 2014. Michelle works with patient accounts and directly with the insurance companies while helping to ensure you have a great patient experience in the office.
Michelle was born in Washington State but grew up in Minnesota. She enjoys spending free time outside with her family and friends while boating, fishing, or hiking.
Julie came to Orono Dental Care in 2016 with a strong background in small business administration and customer service. As a member of our business staff, she is happy to help patients with scheduling, account, and insurance aspects of their dental care.
Julie has lived, worked, and raised a family in the Orono area for over 20 years and loves to see so many familiar faces and beautiful smiles in the office!
Lori has been with Orono Dental Care since we opened our doors in 2004. A graduate of Normandale Community College, Lori received her registered dental hygienist degree in 1992 and has been working in the field since.
She says, “I enjoy working with my variety of patients. I have worked at this office so long that children I saw for their first visit are now graduating from high school!” Her friendly attitude and vast experience make visits in her room a breeze.
In her leisure time, Lori enjoys boating, snowmobiling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a proud mom to three young daughters and is happily married.
Before becoming a dental hygienist, Kari spent six years working as a dental assistant. She returned to St. Cloud State/St. Cloud Technical College and completed her dental hygiene degree in 2001. Kari has worked with Dr. Berg since she graduated from school and has been at Orono Dental Care since our doors opened.
She says, “Working here is rewarding because I get to come to work and make a difference in people’s lives while spending time with a variety of patients. Not a day goes by that one of my patients doesn't also make an impact in my life. They are absolutely wonderful. I enjoy helping them to lead healthy lives and, of course, to enhance their smile!”
Outside of work, Kari enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as running, boating, snowmobiling, and cooking.
Mellisa graduated at the top of her class from Normandale Community College in 2008 with her degree in dental hygiene and began working with Orono Dental Care in 2013. Mellisa is a graduate of Wayzata High School and is proud to raise her family and work in the same area she grew up.
Mellisa says, “I love to meet new people and develop relationships with my patients while teaching them how to keep healthy smiles and using all of the great dental technology that is available in our office!”
Away from the office, Mellisa enjoys going to the cabin, fishing year-round, boating, snowmobiling, spending time with her family, and watching her two daughters grow up!
Kelsey joined our staff in 2012 and is an asset to our team of hygienists. She graduated from Minnesota State University in Mankato in 2010 as a registered dental hygienist and worked for several years before coming to Orono. Kelsey enjoys being a dental hygienist because of the variety of interpersonal relationships she is able to develop while making her patients feel comfortable and knowing she is helping them to achieve a healthy smile every day!
Kelsey and her husband recently welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl. Her hobbies include anything outdoors, spending time with family and friends, working out, reading, and shopping.
Rachel started her dental career in 1993. She practiced dental assisting for five years before returning to school in 1998 for her dental hygiene degree, graduating as an RDH in 2000. She started working with Dr. Berg in his Robbinsdale office and transferred out to the Orono location shortly after.
Rachel prides herself on staying on top of the most current techniques and products used in dental hygiene. It gives her great joy to be a part of such a great dental team at Orono Dental Care.
Rachel has been happily married for 16 years. She and her husband, Charlie, have three children and a dog, and they love to go to their cabin in northwestern Wisconsin. She finds it rewarding going to Haiti to help those less fortunate several times a year. When Rachel gets alone time, she loves to decorate, flip houses, and read.
Paula has been working as a dental hygienist for over 16 years. She graduated as a registered dental hygienist from North Dakota State College of Science Wahpeton in 1999. She joined Orono Dental Care in 2014 soon after moving to the area. Paula takes pride in doing a thorough job while keeping her patients comfortable. One of her favorite parts of being a hygienist is building lasting relationships with patients.
Paula is married and has two precious boys. She enjoys photography, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Jana graduated from Herzing University with top honors in her class before joining our staff in 2012 as a dental assistant. Jana loves dental assisting because she enjoys the medical field and utilizing the state-of-the-art technology in our office.
Her interests include decorating homes and spending quality time with friends, family, and her four dogs.
Crissy graduated from Herzing College with a degree in dental assisting in 2002 and has been working as a dental assistant ever since. She joined our staff at the beginning of 2011.
She says she enjoys her job because "I like the variety in dentistry and I like working with people and helping them with their dental needs."
Away from work, spending time with her husband and four beautiful daughters is one of her greatest joys. She also enjoys camping, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, taking walks, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.
Jamie graduated from Herzing University with a degree in dental assisting in 2007 and has worked with Dr. Skramstad her whole career. Patients find themselves at ease because of Jamie’s fun, easygoing attitude. Additionally, she is exceptionally skilled in CEREC procedures.
Jamie enjoys fishing, camping, spending time with her fiancé (also named Jamie), their son, Jaxson, and their two miniature Australian Shepherds named Chloe and Dozer.
Originally from Chaska, Suzy now lives in Plymouth. Suzy graduated from Hennepin Technical College with a degree in Dental Assisting, and later returned to her alma mater to lecture and teach. She joined Orono Dental Care in 2015 and enjoys making patients feel comfortable with a little humor.
When Suzy is away from the office, she enjoys travel, music, being outdoors, drawing cartoons, and painting.
